The functions of BuoyWatch are to plot and track the movements and positions of all drifters and moorings on a daily basis.
In the event of a mooring breaking free an alert is put into effect, and all efforts are put into its recovery.
Daily plots are made of the drifter tracks and of the buoy locations. Overlaid on the buoy location plots are 24 hour mean current vectors which give a rough idea of current conditions.
